Our Studio Schedule
Ji Art Studio offers art classes year-round through five seasonal sessions. Students can continue developing their artistic skills throughout the year while enjoying a variety of creative projects.

February – Early April
Students build a strong foundation in drawing, painting, and creative techniques as we begin the spring season.
🌸 Spring Session II
May – June
Students continue developing their artistic skills and complete the school year with exciting new projects.
☀️ Summer Session
July – August
Summer classes provide a fun and creative learning experience with a relaxed seasonal schedule. We also offer themed Summer Art Camps.

September – October
Our regular school-year classes resume in September. Some classes may have adjusted tuition due to statutory holidays.
❄️ Winter Session
November – Mid January
Students continue their artistic journey through the winter months. This session includes a short holiday break for Christmas and New Year's.
Students are welcome to join at the beginning of any session, subject to availability. Current students receive priority registration before any remaining spaces are opened to new students.
Basic Sketching and Watercolor for Kids (Ages 6-9)
Each class is 1 hour long and held once a week, where we focus on practicing basic sketching and watercolor techniques. Perfect for children aged 6 to 9, these sessions are designed to nurture young artists and help them build a strong foundation in art.

What They Will Learn:
Basic Drawing Techniques: Understanding lines, shapes, and forms.
Shading and Texture: Introduction to shading to create depth and texture in their sketches.
Perspective: Simple techniques to help young artists understand perspective in their drawings.
Observation Skills: Encouraging kids to sketch from life, learning how to observe and translate what they see onto paper.
Introduction to Watercolor Techniques: Basics of handling watercolor, including wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques.
Color Mixing: Understanding primary colors, how to mix them to create secondary colors, and creating a basic color wheel.
Brush Handling: How to use different types of brushes for various effects and textures.
Layering and Transparency: Techniques for layering colors to create depth and understanding the unique transparency of watercolor.
Basic Color Theory: Basic study of color relationships, mixing, and the psychological impact of colors in artwork.

🎨 Art Class – Q & A
Q: When does registration open?
A: Please see the registration dates listed above in the Class Offering section for priority timelines.
You can register anytime, even after the term has started, as long as there are spots available. If the class has already begun and a spot is open, we will prorate the fee for the remaining weeks.
Q: How do I register?
A:
Cash – Pay at the studio.

A 3% service fee applies for credit card payments.
Q: Why is there a password on the class registration page?
A: The password allows current students to register first and secure their spots before classes open to new students. Once priority registration ends, the password is removed for public sign-ups.
Q: What ages can join the classes?
A: All classes are for ages 6 and up.(age 5 by exception) Adult sessions are open to ages 16+.
Q: Can I switch days/times after registering?
A: Not unless it’s pre-approved and there’s space after current student registration ends.
Q: What if I’m not continuing this term?
A: Please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist.
Q: What happens if a class is canceled due to weather?
A: We’ll reschedule the class and notify you by email or text.
Q: We are going away — can you give a discount?
A: Unfortunately, no. We’ll do our best to arrange a makeup class within the term.
Q: How many weeks is the session?
A: 8 weeks (unless noted otherwise). Please check the posted dates for each class.
Q: Can I get a makeup class if I miss one?
A: Makeups are not guaranteed and must be booked within the same session, if available.
Q: How do I know which class to take?
A: If you’re not sure which class best fits your (or your child’s) level, please contact Ji directly. She’ll be happy to recommend the right class based on age, skill level, and learning goals.
Q: Can I get a refund?
A: Yes — refunds are available only before the class session begins. Once classes have started, no refunds can be issued since we have limited spots, and each registration reserves a seat that could have been offered to another student.

Current students' spots are reserved until August 21 at 11:59 PM. If you are not continuing next term, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to another student.
Class changes or transfers can only be requested after August 21 and are subject to availability. Please message Ji in advance if you would like to request a change.
Studio announcements, schedule updates, and important class information will be posted in your class's private Facebook Parent Chat Group.

Our 2-hour adult art classes, held once a week, are currently full. These sessions cover a variety of mediums, including sketching, acrylic, oil pastel, and watercolor, allowing participants to explore and develop their artistic skills in their preferred medium.

This 2-hour class is designed for young artists who are ready to take their sketching and painting skills to the next level. The class will focus on refining techniques, exploring complex subjects, and developing a deeper understanding of artistic principles. Students will have the opportunity to work on both sketching and painting, combining the two mediums in creative and innovative ways.
What They Will Learn:
Advanced Sketching Techniques: Precision in lines, forms, and shading, with a focus on complex compositions and detailed work.
Painting Techniques: Exploring different painting mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, or oil, with an emphasis on blending, layering, and texturing.
Color Theory: In-depth study of color relationships, mixing, and the psychological impact of colors in artwork.
Composition and Design: Creating dynamic and balanced compositions using principles of design, including focal points, contrast, and movement.
Figure Drawing and Portraits: Advanced instruction in drawing and painting the human figure and portraits, focusing on proportion, anatomy, and expression.
Creative Projects: Encouraging students to develop their own projects, incorporating both sketching and painting to express their artistic voice.

This class is designed to introduce to the fundamentals of sketching. Whether they are complete beginners or have some drawing experience, this class will help them develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.
What They Will Learn:

Complex Shading and Texture: Techniques to create more realistic shading, texturing, and lighting effects.
Perspective and Proportions: In-depth exploration of perspective, proportions, and how to apply them in dynamic compositions.

1-Hour sketch / 90 mins + fun anime/Cartoon Class for Kids
Join our 1-hour Anime Basics class designed for young kids! Students will learn the fundamentals of drawing anime characters and scenes. This class provides a fun and creative environment for young artists to explore their passion for anime art.
